Car Locksmith - Vehicle Lockouts & Key Replacement

Losing a car key or needing a spare no longer means a tow to the main dealer and a week without your car. As a mobile auto locksmith we come to your home, work or roadside across Wrexham, Chester, Shrewsbury and Oswestry, and handle most vehicle key and lock work on the driveway. It's usually faster and cheaper than a dealer visit.

Our Auto Locksmith Services

Vehicle lockouts

Non-destructive entry when the keys are locked inside or lost — no broken windows. We use vehicle-specific tools that open the car the way its own handle does.

Spare keys before you need them

A spare is far cheaper to arrange while you still have a working key than after you've lost your only one. If you're down to a single key, a spare is the cheapest insurance you'll buy.

Car key cutting

Most keys have a mechanical blade and an electronic element. We cut blade keys to your vehicle so the key physically fits and turns the lock.

Transponder key programming

Since the mid-1990s almost every car has an immobiliser, with a chip in the key that must match the car's ECU or the engine won't start. We programme replacement transponder keys and remotes so the key turns and starts.

Spare and replacement remotes

Faulty or lost remote fobs supplied and programmed so central locking works as it should.

Ignition problems

Worn or faulty ignition barrels repaired or replaced where possible, diagnosed on site.

Vans and commercial vehicles

Auto locksmith services for vans and light commercial vehicles, where a locked-out or key-less vehicle means a stopped working day.

Auto Locksmith FAQs

Why won't a normally cut key start my car?

Because the blade and the chip are separate. A cut-only key turns the lock, but the immobiliser blocks the engine until the transponder is programmed to your car. Both steps have to happen.

Do I need to bring the car to you?

No — we're mobile and come to the vehicle wherever it is, which is usually more convenient and cheaper than a dealer visit.

What should I have ready when I call?

Your registration, make, model and year, and how many working keys you currently have. That last point matters a lot for how the job is done.

Can you help if I've lost every key?

Losing all keys is a specialist job that varies significantly by make and model. Please call with your vehicle details so we can confirm what's possible before you travel.
